Cotswold Lavender, the family lavender farm in Worcestershire
Address: Hill Barn Farm, Snowshill, Worcestershire, WR12 7JY.
We always wait for July because this is the best time to visit lavender fields. Do you agree they look absolutely stunning at this time of the year? And mostly, lavender fields are dog-friendly!
Lavender is widely grown as an ornamental plant for gardens and for the extraction of essential oils. The colour of flowers vary and may be blue, violet, lilac, yellowish and, of course, a wide range of purples. People come from far and wide to wander through rows of lavender and feel a sense of peace and tranquility, breathe the lush and gorgeous scent of lavender plants, take dreamy pictures and simply enjoy!
We live in the Cotswolds, and the closest lavender farm is Cotswold Lavender in Worcestershire. The story of this family farm started in 1994, when they moved to Hill Barn Farm, on the outskirts of the village of Snowshill. Starting from a few hundred plants, they have grown to almost 70 acres of lavender. Now everything in the farm revolves around lavender: planting, growing, harvesting, and making new lavender products like lavender gifts, toiletries, soaps and home fragrances. When you plan your visit, consider that the lavender is at its peak in the second half of July. This is also when the harvest of lavender starts.
Lavender fields are open to the public only from June to August, so don’t put it off until it’s too late!
