Hotel Meudon, a 4-star hotel with subtropical gardens in Cornwall.
Address: Mawnan Smith, Falmouth, Cornwall, TR11 5HT.
Dog-friendly Hotel Meudon near Falmouth, Cornwall, is quite a special place for us. We went there to celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary, continuing a tradition, as we first discovered Meudon when celebrating our very first anniversary together. Our second visit to Hotel Meudon therefore felt very much like catching up with an old friend we had longed to see again.

An interesting fact: in the 1800s, Meudon was home to Falmouth’s famous Fox family. The Foxes, Quakers by faith, owned several properties in and around Falmouth, among them Glendurgan and Trebah Gardens, both just a 5-minute drive from Hotel Meudon.
We can say without a doubt that the hotel offers a stay designed for relaxation, comfort, privacy, and pleasure. It boasts 9 acres of subtropical gardens leading to the private beach, Bream Cove, where you can go wild swimming and paddle boarding, as well as easy access to the picturesque Cornish countryside and coast, an award-winning restaurant, and 29 bedrooms with stylish interiors.
What a pleasure it is to wake up early in the morning and walk with your four-legged companion through subtropical gardens full of Jurassic-looking giant plants! Leaves rustle in the wind, the air is filled with the scent of flowers, and you are immersed in thought… This is the perfect time to relax and forget the hustle and bustle of big-city life.

The hotel still retains much of its old-fashioned charm: pristine white tablecloths in the dining room, an unhurried atmosphere, and those breathtaking views spilling out across the subtropical gardens. Sitting there, it was easy to remember why we had fallen for the place on our first visit.
That said, we couldn’t help but notice that a little of the magic has faded over the years. Small details, once so thoughtfully handled, seemed to have slipped. For instance, our dog Winnie was not given the welcome pack he had so enjoyed on our first stay three years ago — a gesture that had made us feel especially cared for as guests.
Even so, Hotel Meudon still holds a special place in our hearts, and we hope to keep the tradition alive for anniversaries to come!

Dogs at Hotel Meudon
Dogs are very welcome in all areas, but excluding the main restaurant. There is a fee of £25 per pooch per night.
We were disappointed by the lack of a welcome pack for our dog in a room, because three years ago Winnie was provided with a comfy bed, a red towel, bowls, some treats, a ball to play and a nice handwritten letter from the hotel team.
Parking
Free for visitors.
