Mowgli Street Food is a fast-growing chain of dog-friendly Indian restaurants in different cities in the UK. The founder, Nisha Katona, opened her first Mowgli restaurant in Liverpool in 2014. And later, in Manchester, Birmingham, Oxford, London, Nottingham, Sheffield, Cardiff, Leicester, Leeds, Glasgow, Cheltenham, Brighton, Bristol, and Edinburgh. Nisha is also a food writer (books ‘Pimp My Rice’, ‘The Spice Tree’, and the ‘Mowgli Cook Book’) and a television presenter.
What do you think about the Indian food? My mouth is already watering when I am just reading the menu: Angry Bird (£7.75), succulent chicken thighs marinated & roasted in tandoor spices, yoghurt, ginger & garlic, served with popped mustard Mowgli Slaw. Or Mowgli House Keema (£8), succulent ground lamb, roast cumin, cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, peas, tomatoes & pulses simmered for hours to create a darkly rich & heady dish.
We were at Mowgli Street Food in Sheffield. For us, the Indian food always incredibly combines different aromas and different tastes in one dish. We like that variety of smells, looks, and flavors. But sometimes it is toooo spicy! The restaurant has a lovely, cosy atmosphere and wooden swings for seats. This is its brand’s signature.
