The White Horse
The White Horse Hotel in Romsey
Dog-friendly hotel in Hampshire

The White Horse, a historic 4-star hotel in Hampshire.
Address: Market Place, Romsey, Hampshire, SO51 8ZJ.

The White Horse, a 14th-century dog-friendly hotel in the heart of the market town of Romsey, is a perfect base to explore Hampshire. We stayed in the hotel to go to Winchester (25 minutes), Exbury Gardens (28 minutes), and Beaulieu (25 minutes). The New Forest is also a short drive away.

Located just a few yards from Romsey Abbey and King John’s House, the hotel is packed with stunning period features, like timber beams or ancient frescoes on the walls of Tudor Lounge. But at the same time, the hotel looks very elegant and modern. We fell in love with incredible interiors: the White Horse has been recently fully refurbished and includes 29 bedrooms. All bedrooms are unique in shape, size and decoration. Our favourite bedroom features: a tiny bookshelf with books, a rubber duck in a bathroom, and a hand-written welcoming letter from the staff.

The hotel now is part of The Coaching Inn Group, which has a passion for restoring lovely old historic coaching inns.

Dogs at The White Horse

Dogs are very welcome in all areas, but excluding the main restaurant. A bowl of water, dog treats and poo bags for your four-legged companion are provided. You will also need to pay a charge of £15 per dog/per day.

Parking
The hotel is situated in the town centre, so there is no parking on-site. But there are some local car parks within walking distance. The nearest parking is literally around the corner.
