The Huntsman, a historic pub in Bath, Somerset.
Address: 1 Terrace Walk, North Parade, Bath, BA1 1LJ.
When you are in Bath with your dog, we recommend with no hesitation The Huntsman, the dog-friendly pub. The pub is conveniently located, just on the way from the Roman Baths to the Pulteney Bridge. Built between 1748 & 1750, that beautiful Grade II listed Georgian building was designed by John Wood, the Elder, who is well known for creating many of the streets and buildings of Bath. In 2012, the pub was bought by the London family brewer Fuller, Smith & Turner and then fully refurbished.
This is now a smart gastro pub with friendly, polite and professional waiters. The captivating and stylish interior space with lots of features: we recommend going up to the first floor. The place where the ambiance is just as important as the food. The food was delicious as well, by the way.
For instance, in the menu: Chalcroft Farm Beef Burger (£17.50) with Gouda, lettuce, tomato, red onions, secret sauce, triple cooked chips. Or Confit Pork Belly (£17.50) served with smoked bean purée, black pudding croquette, peas & Mrs Owton’s bacon, crackling and a red wine jus. Or Norfolk Chicken Schnitzel (£16.50) with Caesar salad, anchovies and Parmesan.
